I'm a sucker for tracks from the mid 90's that have a certain feel to them so when I saw that this goody was repressed I was pumped. The original is ok and will probably be played for myself at home but where the fun starts is with the Laidback Luke Mix. Pure gold tech-house track in my opninion!

The Good Men "Give It Up" Deejay Exclusiv

Another old House record, but I don't like silly genre names. If it's good music I call it Techno... Of course since it's been repressed by "deejay.de you can grab listens and order it there
I guess I was in the mood to play today.
Usually after a day of work I sit down, do some site work, wash some dishes, feed my pets and go to sleep. I know, I'm the pinnacle of "with-it-ness" don't be jealous. Anyway I plopped a record down and started givin' 'er and ended up with a mix that I'm going to use as my newest addition to the Vilest Worker "Busted Beatbox" series.
Vilest Worker? Yeah, another name of mine. Why? Why not? Vilest Worker is an anagram of my name (Trevor Wilkes) go ahead re-arrange the letters, they're all there. It was so clever I couldn't not use it ;) If you worked with me you would know it's all too suiting. The "Busted Beatbox" series is turning into my more hectic mix series. Full on, floor waxing tunes. No time for idle banter while listening to this (hopefully anyway). Basically what I think a dance floor should be tagged with after a proper stretch and warm-up.

For anyone who choo-choo-chooses to harass Mr. Luke I highly recommend doing so by loading his Myspace page and glaring at it in a harassing manner. I did it and I'm sure he knows it.
This is the second mix of Anders' I've discovered and it's the second mix I've kept for listening pleasures down the road.

DAS BIERBEBEN "IM KREIS" Thies Mynter´s (Phantom/Ghost) electronic polit-punk band gets remix treatment by Cristian Vogel! Kompakt Info
"I did a 9 and a half minute electro-acoustic remix , kind of inspired by Sand and Liars and other cool experimental bands . . they freaked out at Shitkatapult, and asked me to do another one, a bit more playable, so I knocked up something in a more minimal mode, but also pretty extreme as far as remixing music by other artists goes. And if you liked his set here, be sure to check out his next party in Toronto (assuming you're in the area of course).
Back when I first put this mix online (January 2005) it went over ...pretty well. Some enthusiastic comments were left and some CD requests were made. But as with all things of this nature it was discarded in a server clean out. I had forgotten about it until someone told me it was the mix of mine they have enjoyed the most. So of course I had to dig it out.

I don't have any direct sound sample links for this one, but there are samples available at: deejay.de and Humpty-Stuttgart. I have a feeling I'll be buying a lot of Attuk in the future. This guy has a good grasp of what sounds good for sure.

The Bass Kitten and Single Cell Orchestra track rocks hard, total oldschool breakdance feel to it with some updated sounds to keep it from being stale, but including enough of the standard scratches and samples to make it recognizeable.
I have my copy pre-ordered from deejay where there are sound samples already as well. You have to register to hear them so if you're not down with that I guess a quick search of some of the UK stores will find them for you. Covert comes to mind as someone who'll probably have it early on.

Yeah yeah yeah, more Pretension. Well the Label is coming out of hibernation so the goods are coming out en masse. I actually (and unfortunately) find the Si Begg mix to be the weakest track on this one. The whole A side is hot. Slow mo, dark and bass driven with audible oddities strewn throughout. Class release.

This is kind of borderline Old Detroit/New School Techno. It's the A1 & B1 tracks that I personally like and will buy for. Dark with some old Downwards/Surgeon FM synth feel to them that makes me grin. God slow burners that make you feel all jittery and anxious because you know something is about to happen.
Deejay.de has it in stock still, but not many copies from the looks of it. Check any of the four stores in the left sidebar or check out your own local one.
I just read a news article saying that in the first wave of bookings for Detroit's music fest (I don't even care what it's called anymore so I'll stick with DEMF) Neil Landstrumm has been booked. That's all I needed to hear. Saddle up pardners! It'll be my first Festival outing in 3 years. Finally someone I actually want to see!
"Originally released in 2000, this was the very first statement of musical intent from John Drukman & Justin Maxwell's label Pretension. A four-tracker of hybrid electro/breaks, in the style that Bass Kittens (Drukman) had been developing over several years, it still sounds remarkably fresh today, in this time of homogenous sample CD-created breaks-by-numbers. In parts reminiscent of DHS, elsewhere sounding like nothing but itself, this was a strong start for the label, and its reappearance now sets things up nicely for the label relaunch in May 2006."

I've always been a huge fan of Otto so I can't wait to get my grubby hands on this. Otto is one of the very few artists whose records I don't even bother listening to before I buy them and I've never been shown to be wrong in that. Obviously a double seven inch that was made using sounds that people submitted of themselves puking will be good. Obviously.

Snog (David Thrussell) returns to [k]racktroni[k] with a gloriously deviant slice of bass-driven electro-funk. Sounding a little like Prince and David Bowie pumped full of steroids and partying after a week long tequila binge, this is definitely the sleaziest ode to the collapse of the oil industry that you are likely to hear this year (or ever for that matter). Livesets.com have a Dave Tarrida tribute planned for this friday. Tune in @ 12:00 CET for a whole day of his sets played back to back.
"Dave Tarrida started his DJ career in 1991 helping Edinburgh Scotland`s legendary Sativa club gain its legendary reputation during the five thriving years it existed. Many of the guests at Sativa were Scottish if not UK debuts: Dave Clarke brought Cristian Vogel up from Brighton for one of his first live PAs. DJ Hell, Claude Young, Electric Indigo and Adam X all played their British debuts in Sativa.
Most notable were the first-ever live PA`s of fellow Scotsmen Neil Landstrumm and Tobias Schmidt. Sativa`s important influence can be summed up by Irving Welsh when he thanked the club in his introduction to Malibu Stork Nightmare...."

We are glad to present the second mp3-release called “Shitty Pity” by Ghettofuck label.
The compilation contains tracks by musicians from different corners of Europe, each with their own outlooks and views on electronic music. We did not limit ourselves to any style boundaries, we have chosen the tracks according to our criteria of freshness of ideas and originality of music.
The mp3 label was created to give a chance to starting and experienced musicians to release pieces they think might not compile with the existing clichés of electronic music.
After U download the archive file from our web-site, U will find the following in “mp3” folder:
A track by a guy called Chip Tronic from a small town of Sinheim close to Stuttgart (Germany), who has been the one of the founders of the BombTrap label and now rules his own label Stonedwave, and had previously been released at some of German techno labels.
Two tracks by a Kiev electronic duet Ottosiderspunk, who have contributed a lot into the development of electronic music in Ukraine. Even more important is he fact that the “Anytime” track has been recorded live.
A track by David Dal Busco, a musician from Switzerland, whose tracks have been previously released at Swiss “Human Machine concept” and “Helvet Underground”.
Melodies and rhythms from the most talented IDM musician in Ukraine, Dunaewsky69.
Another track from Germany by Steph – well-known DJ in Giessen and Frankfurt, who decided to follow his brother’s way…
It is quite easy to create new pieces if you live in a city where so many musicians and DJs were brought up. 2 tracks from Brighton by Decadnids.

Recently on BOA Radio neil Landstrumm participated in what sounds like a phone interview. Lots of talk about music, the internet and things to come. The good stuff starts at approximately the 18:20 mark in the file and continues to the end. About ten minutes of talk followed by one of Neil's live, grimey, mash-ups, of early rave bombs.

the wee djs has been releasing electronic music for over 10 years and has played at clubs throughout Europe. During this time he has been responsible for several nervous breakdowns of clubbers due to his particularly strange brand of distorted, twisted and relentless beats aimed at the dancefloor. He has remixed the likes of Carl Finlow and worked with 2 Lone Swordsmen, released on SCSI-AV, Gassoline, Input Output and has a forthcoming album on Touchin' Bass.
We are very happy to give you, the wee djs
Also don't forget the next release on Input-Output is the "Wee Free" Ep!
