Antikonsum; A solid broken beat techno label with a solid crew of friends behind it. I was interested in the music this crew was making before this, their, latest project was initiated. Sometimes when people take new directions you don't always feel the same way towards it. A person can't enjoy everything out there right?

So I was glad when I got my first Antikonsum record to hear it was business as usual. Solid tunes with dark atmospheres and enough wobble in the basslines to keep them pumping, Antikonsum's musical tastes -- although different then their other projects (Zinch, Klangnet) -- are still top notch.

Three EP's out already with it being only a short amount of time before the 4th is ready for Antikonsumption I'm sure. This is an excellent time for them to set up a home on the web...

www.antikonsum.de has been wrangled together and has an Online Shop, artist info and the other expected sections for a label. Expect some high quality music downloads (sets) in the near future and of course some more vinyl.

I just got back from Detroit/ DEMF.

After a night's rest and a good shower I'll put up the few pics I took. Over the next little bit I have a good 2 hours of video to transfer from my camera and a 45 minute conversation (audio & video) I had with Neil Landstrumm. So during the next week or two bits of all that will be popping up as I have time to rip it all down.

and now I go to sleep.

Tomorrow morning I leave for Detroit and the DEMF/Movement Festival. I hope to bring back some goodies (Video and Audio) for everyone. Expect no news Sunday and Monday. I should be back home by Tuesday and ready to rock again.

Trevor Wilkes

Attuk.

The man who hs just released two excellent EPs. The first one on Neue Heimat is my personal favorite (it's got the funk!), but the newer Mutter EP is good as well. Just a little straighter in it's focus.

I have half of a DJ mix of his from 2002. It's labeled Part 2 and I don't have part 1. So there's that. It's still a good set though. I recommend grabbing it and trainspotting all the way through it. That's what I did since so much of it is recognizeable. I love that.

Download Attuk @ 1040 part 2

about a week ago I mentioned that Sueme has a Neue Heimat coming out. At that time I had next to no information. Fortunately for me, you and whoever I missed I now have the complete info-pack.

I wont post the basics again, but here's what I was lacking the first time around....

"After a couple of well-received releases on Neue Heimat as Subhead with his musical partner-in-crime Jason Leach, Sueme (aka Phil Subhead) takes the reins on his own to present a deranged four tracker of twisted breaks and techno. Seemingly laying low recently after a slow but steady series of releases on his own Dot Com label, this is a welcome return from the mentalist baldie. As always a bewildering array of influences are thrown into the mix, from the rave-funk of 'Nakano nights' to the disco stabs and Chic-style bass of 'Jazzy Jeff' - all of course underpinned by his trademark lop-sided drum programming and parping bass. There is also a refreshing humour to these tracks that is sadly missing from much contemporary dance music, maybe this will herald a resurgence of smiling on the dancefloor after all the recent blank-faced 'where have my legs gone' Ketamine nonsense!!!"

A1 - Nakano nights
A2 - Jazzy Jeff
B1 - C'est comme ca
B2 - Banana love

Neue Heimat is distributed by Humpty-Stuttgart, but I got the info from the boys at Veto

I'm a sucker for most things Bob. He's one of the few guys who I've actually booked for one of my parties (99% of the time I book strictly locals). During that weekend I spent with Bob and his wife Lauren I learned that he's a total stand-up guy. He couldn't have been nicer if you bribed him.

With that in mind here's a little 'project' he's undertaken.

"Hey Guys,

I just started a Blog with Links to MP3's of DJ mixes of mine (Even one from Me and Mace at Nebulae in Philly from back in the Day) and original tracks from Framework, and other record labels. Feel free to pass the link around - My wife's website had some extra space, and I figured there might be a person or two interested in some free beats. (Also with the Blog, you can subscribe to the RSS feed, and will know when I posted some new tunes.)

I will be posting more stuff up there in the next few weeks/months, so I recommend the RSS feed. Any ways here is the URL:

http://djbobbrown.blogspot.com

Enjoy!

Bob Brown"

So far he has the first two Framework releases available to download and two Dj sets. More to be added!

A few online stores have them in already, but today I'm going to pick on Veto since they're the only ones who were kind enough to give me a full list.

DJ Sueme "Sueme and the Banana Love" Neue Heimat 31

need more info!
Yes. Phil has a release on Neue Heimat and it's stellar. When I listened on Humpty-Stuttgart I was wowed by the wonky techno breaks. If anyone has a link to a place with more info let me know. I can't even find track names yet.

Random Bits

I'm just going to mention a few random bits today. Some MP3 download news and a few videos sitting online to watch and or share with everyone you know.

Cristian Vogel - Gigantic Tautological Machinery ( 1996 ) Discogs Link / Cristian's Site
Some kind soul has uploaded the music video for one of the tracks from Cris' Specific Momentific album. What I think is the best track on that album.

YouTube Video Link

Feinwerk - Christian Schacta AKA Syntax Error has asked me to mention that his label is now in cahoots with dj download (Feinwerk, Snork). So, if you're the kind of person who enjoys being honest and paying for your music then head on over. Tip towards the sole Snork release so far. It's class!

Sugar Experiment Station Live - Some, ok, a ton of you know all about the SES Live video that I have on my server (top left corner of the left menu). To make it easier to share with more people I've gone and uploaded it to Google Video.

Share the link with this one..share it far and wide. Again!

A1-Limbertimbre - Funny
A2-Confutatis - Mulct
B1-¬a]e o¬e - Monodyne
B2-Datassette - Moomin

Some of the latest Spacebar reminds me of a laid-back, darker Aux 88. Maybe it's just me. I don't find any of the tracks to be knock-out, stand-outs but it's an all around good ep. Heads above what's being called 'Electro' by most I'd say.

Props to spacebar sentiments for another slab of wax in the box.

You know the drill. Every second Thursday..yadda yadda yadda.

Here's the show that aired tonight. Burn it and make your grandparents listen. They'll thank you later. I think Track 10 is my new favorite for the time being. The next test will be to see if it's still my fav next week. If it has staying power then it's gold. Right? I think so!

Class act! Samples of Jesus Loves The Acid made my day. The new boy on the steet (Luke's Anger) does his maw incredibly well on this one as well, It'll be played to death the first day I get my hands on it.

Being as it's a slow day for New Releases and Sets I thought I'd mention that Schematic one of the many homes of Otto Von SChirach has it's own Online Store-Front now. Maybe they've had it for a while, I don't know. I don't remember seeing it before. I'm just glad I can grab the few records I missed and wanted still.

They've actually got a whole shed-load of different stuff up there. Touchin Bass, Interdimensional Transmissions, Detroit underground and more. I guess they've got a copy or two of all the records their artists in residence have written. Good on them!

Some tidbits taken from the Nasty Colour label page.

Nasty Colour 5 with Dj Urban and Esther Ofei soon. (I *think* Jerome Hill has something to do with it too, but that's only loose talk. Nothing for sure yet).

NC is also hosting some audio to bribe your pleasure centers with. Go ahead visit them, read what they've got and download before you leave. Jerome Hill's TeknOhmage set and a Neil Landstrumm P.A.

The new mix that BeNi put together and I'm hosting for him wasn't nearly enough to satisfy my yearnings. So I've put another of his older mixes online again. I actually put this one on my srver before the new one , but forgot to post it. I have a few new ones that I'll work my way thorugh in the next couple weeks. Basically whnever there is a new release dry spell.

Various Artists "Bar Residents" Framework 19
tube jerk - drowning again
bitcrusher - flapflapflap
mdk - drzh
bob brown- beating

The new Framework label-owner has this to say: "After two years of no releases, framework is now coming back with a new vinyl. the "bar residents e.p." welcomes two new artists on framework: tube jerk and mdk, bob brown and me did a track for this one, too. release will be in the beginning of june, distributed by deejay.de"

Three of the tracks are definitely up my alley. They can be used in a wide variety of sets and have some bleeps and bloops (I'm a sucker for anything that bleeps. Ask my microwave). The mdk is good too but it's something I'd have to be in the mood for. Pretty hectic beats with some purely insane acid line going on.

I guess it makes sense re-starting the label with a Various Artist EP. I wonder if Nico will aim for purely new talent or if he'll stick with some of the previous artists as well? I'd like to hear another Blimp Ep at the very least.

The new Framework site should be ready real soon so bookmark Framework Music now and check back in a bit!

This mix is dirty. Seriously. Imagine cockroaches on your pizza and this thing out-stanks that. This is the aural equivalent of a bowl of scabs and milk for breakfast. Some new stuff, some old stuff and some stuff that I've never heard before but will probably buy now. Another great BeNi mix!

Oliver Rosemann just had a track out on the last Miditonal record and I liked it. I still like it in fact. Two whole weeks and I still like it. Amazing. Sort of.

Oddly enough I used to talk to this character 2-3 years ago when I was a heavy Soulseek user, him and I used to trade wonky techno live sets. He pointed that out to me. The devil used a different name at the time so I would never have added that up. This time however the live set we traded was his own. Ok, it wasn't much of a trade as he got nothing in return. But I bet if you like this set and leave a comment here for him to see that'll be fair enough.

A few words on Oliver Rosemann:

Oliver Rosemann started to produce music in 1998. Thenceforward he started to play in several clubs and events in East Germany, for one at 10/40 and Beta Baboon Club. He is influenced by the Brighton Techno sound his style is evil, dark and groovy with a touch of wittiness. In the beginning of 2006 he released his first track, called unique haircut, on a V.A. at Miditonal Records (midi007-Amplify the Force EP V4.0)
Now Oliver is still working on new live acts and upcoming releases at the "Monomental Audio" studio.

Soon you can get more information at monumental.de !

Another double ten inch from Zinch!
If there is one thing that each track on this release has it's power. And grunge. With a bit of humour. Ok, if there are three things this release has it's those. But that's not all! I know I should make up my mind and end the charades. But I can't help it. When I hear a new double pack with the variety that this one has my giddy nature peeks out. Not only is every track on this extremely playable, I think a good chunk of them have some huge cross-genre appeal. Cross-genre appeal is definitely lacking in the dirty, hard, grindcore, distort your mother, synths that sound like the screams of villagers being pillaged wonky type techno. Huh? Yeah. So this is a definitely one to grab!

Ranging from the awful flibbity mouth beat-boxing that Mark and L.x.A have crammed into a low key funky track (that could teach mr. don't laugh wink a lesson), to the boom-bastic electro L.x.A does on his/her/they're own (I suspect Al.x.E behind that one), all the way through to the signature Hawkins forceful drive to the Vet (assuming you're a dog and about to get a shot). Now if that were all that was included, well damn, I'd call it well done, well sung and well hung. But it's not. Beni and MasCon, ever improving in their apparent endeavor to devour the world with their music have unleashed a mitten full of techno tracks that are truly raunchy (the good kind of raunchy that you like but your mother hates).

The three words I'd use to describe this record to someone? "I" "Don't" "Want" "Your" "Love"

We all know I can't count.

Available for purchase from Humpty-Stuttgart or if you live in North America and don't want to pay the nasty shipping on one record from Germany. Let me know A.S.A.P. and I'll have a couple sent to me and distribute them to whomever called dibs. You still have to pay (sucker's get no breaks) but it'll be cheaper for you. You have about until this Monday to get in touch with me about that I'd say (bleep@isoprax.com) before I have to cut off. I don't want to wait too long to get mine ;)

I'm glad the S-max DJ Set I found yesterday got me off my duff and curious as to what the Boogizm boys have been up to. It led to the discovery of a new Boogizm. Deadly. Time to look for audio sample!

S-max DJ Set

On the Detroit Luv Message Board I found a post about an S-max DJ Set that was floating around on the net. It required that you knew a username and password which is a pain. So I grabbed it and put it on my server. Much easier to share that way. The file is in 2 parts and is pretty damn long. Plenty of twisted, minimal Boogizm style beats to bump along to.

"This time in DEVIL RED VINYL - with help from CHAN'N'MIKES, MIDITONAL and FEINWERK this will be one of the highlights for 2006 - let your ears and feet decide!!!"

distributed exclusively by Deejay.de.

This really is a good EP. I think I prefer it over the last two Crash Course EP's that the Kugelbox crew have offered us. All five tracks hold their own and on top of that they each have their own slightly different take on what is going on (they aren't too similiar). Once again Forshaw gives us a calculatingly dirty break-beat with his screaming synth work we all know so well. The edits are as usual superb. The other stand-out track for myself is the NDK. I don't quite know what catches my ear, could be simply the production. The kicks make me techno horny although the whole track is good. Syntax Error whom I mention quite often has let something out of the box that I don't think I've ever heard from him before. It strikes me as a lot harder than what he usually does. Works for me!

For this week's show I decided to try something else. I had a friend come over and we had ourselves a little back to back action at my place. It was our first time ever trying this but it worked out ok. Now...it's time to share it. I've been sitting on this set for 2-3 weeks now waiting for a show to play it. Today was the day!

Trevor Wilkes vs Pash Hrnic = Bleep Radio # 30
I don't have the tracklist info from Pash for his section, maybe later on I'll add it if he remembers what he played. So where ever you see a Question Mark is where it's not me playing. Easy enough to figure your heads around. Enjoy!
