Rosie Brown "Bliss (Derrick Carter Remixes)" .dotbleep 11

April 4, 2007

I've always had a spot in my heart for the tracky, bleep laden house of Chicago (hence my vacation there in a few months). Hell it was Terry Mullan who was the doing the most damage to dance floors as far as I was concerned when I first started going out and discovering. So Chicago house has been a large part of my musical taste and record collection.

I seem to be unable to find stuff that really raises my eye brows anymore though, or at least I had difficulty until a few labels started hooking me up. I mentioned Robsoul a few days ago as a label that periodically hid a gem on an EP, but .dotbleep has been pleasing me even more.

The last .dotbleep I bought (Natural Rhythm's "Chicago Tower") hasn't left my bag in months. It fits with damn near anything I've tried to play it with and it rocks dance floors. This EP by Rosie Brown -- and DC on Remix duty -- I don't think will have the same holy crap factor, but it definitely holds it's own.
