Digital PrinceZZ has some new material that she's been working on and would like to hear some opinions from 'Murky Readers'. That sounds like a brilliant idea to me!

I was quite surprised by this one. Feinwerk has veered off into a new direction. It's seemingly heading towards where I thought Snork [Feinwerk Sub-label] was supposed to be patrolling. Although this isn't a complaint, just a comment / observation.

The highlights for me were the Paul Chambers track and the Dan Monox and Marcus Rafferty tracks. I wasn't expecting much (due only because I haven't heard much), but I got a lot out of them.

Awesome work guys!

Bleep 78 marks the end of my batch of pre-recorded shows. So I guess that means this weekend I'll have to sit down and crank out a couple more. I've been kinda itching for this moment as I've got a lot of new stuff here that hasn't Bleeped yet and it's begging too.

When I opened up my email client and saw a message from Neil starting like this: "I just completed an all new live mix in the studio last week for upcoming 'Subs and Steel Live Tour Autumn 2007'". I had a funny feeling I would be best advised to read on without further ado.

Sure enough, Neil Landstrumm has put together a new Studio Live Set and passed it our way for aural enjoyment. It contains a bunch of new material and only a small touch of his 'older' stuff....although I don't know if you can call material from his freshly released LP 'old' yet.

It should be no surprise to anyone to hear me raving about Luke's material. So I wont bother.

You shouldn't even need sound samples. Buy on sight.

Luke you're a dirty man!

Funky Techno wonk-meister Luke's anger's finest 12" yet , showing off
fine style and his ever increasing production skill. "Love Hack" is a straight dancefloor burn-out, early vogel meets vitalic, with muted party shouts held down by a grinding bassline. Failure Probe is a true acidhouse tumbler with heavy toms that make you wanna Percolate like it aint no thing. 24hr Freshness is a pure booty jump-up party banger and finally Kid606 turns in a crunchy acid reworking of "Work That Mod" with dueling 303's and live 909 to create an unfathomably twisted analogue epic.

Here's another addition to the Mark Hawkins' archive that he's putting together. A handful of sets of Mark's as well as some related bits from other artists on the same night he played.

That should enough to hold you all over until tomorrow.

I've also got about 20 of Mark's older releases that have been remastered and we're going to offer them in the Murky Store as Crime Digital releases. It may take a week or two to get them all inputted though so just check back or wait for a reminder here.

I'm glad I stumbled across this repress, or restock, or whatever in fact it is. It led me to discover that the label Perce~Oreille did not totally and for reasons unknown disappear. Perce~Oreille is simply Perce~Oreille Version 2. Oh how clever.

For some reason, ever since Bob Brown's 'Everything Mine' Ep a few years back this label doesn't seem to make any headlines. Now that I've re-found it, let's see what they've done with themselves to keep busy.

This mix was recorded specifically for Bleep, however, it's been sitting around for a month or two. I only have 1 more mix waiting in the wings so I guess it's almost time to record a bunch more. Unless some guest mixes pop out of the woodwork. Which could happen at any minute I guess.

Ohhhhh!

What do we have here?

New Wee. In more ways than one. Mr. Wee was asked by a promoter to put together a more dance floor friendly set recently and this was the result. Mind you it could always use more tweaky bits, but as far as bad-ass Electro goes it's better than alright.

The Kooky Scientist was one of the people responsible for my early adventures in Techno. His old sound and to an extent his current sound is unique and has qualities I've always found myself enjoying.

He's got the wobbly bits, the dancey bits and the heady bits all rolled into one. As it should be.

Anyway, this isn't old, but it is Fred Giannelli. Live from San Francisco I believe near the end of last year.
I just found out this CD is a commercial release and not just a live set recorded from a party. I therefore can not allow it to be downloaded from my server. Go buy it! I'll dig up some more info...

This gets me thinking....I don't think I have any older live-sets of The Kooky Scientist. Can anyone supply anything from the mid to late nineties?? (bleep@isoprax.com)

Dave Tarrida, one of the hardest working oddballs out there plays all over the damn place. Here are two of his most recent sets that I've stumbled across and collected for you all.

Dave Tarrida @ Tresor night, Brazil

Dave Tarrida Live Radio Session Pt 2

I've got 2 sets from Monsieur Forshaw to share. But first let's enjoy him in a pink, frilly cowboy hat.

Veto Says:The latest Growth instalment welcomes onboard Berlin 's wonky techno bad-boy Mascon . Known for his releases on Klangnet, Zinch, Neue Heimat & Antikonsum , and for his storming live sets all over Germany ( Tresor Berlin, Uglyfunk Berlin, Hanomag Hannover, Neue Heimat Stuttgart and many more), for Growth he comes up with two characteristically deviant slices of Teutonic mentalism! As is now customary, label owner Lief Ryan will be occupying the other side and packing it full of hoover drones, bass drops and nasty crunchy breaks inna rave stylee...And after his recent brush with the grim reaper he has obviously come back fighting!

Volker Wiegand A.K.A. Quick'n'Smart has a new release to shake up dance floors. This EP was alluded to when Volker did his Bleep Radio Show. A Cd was also mentioned, but I've not got the info for that yet. Giddily anticipating it though, that's for damn sure.

sample links fixed

I find Nerven to be more miss than hit, but when they do hit it's a dead eye snipe.

This EP by Marco Remus and the Miditonal yokels (Reche & Recall) has 2 tracks that I found myself bouncing to. The Reche & Recall remix and the title track.

This Bleep Radio show is also one of my 'Clearly Smudged' mixes. That doesn't mean too much. Just that it's Bleepy Tech House stuff. So if that's your bag, this is for you.

As was mentioned a week or so ago, Mark Hawkins is starting to put together an archive site at his old label domain. Crime Productions may not be an active label right now, but it's as good a place as any to build up the last several years worth of live sets, dj sets and other related bits that Mark has accomplished.

On that note here's the latest addition to the archive. Mark Hawkins @ Zoom Club

While you're listening to the sets, give the photos from his recent Tresor gig a glance.

Duckbeats is none other than Chris Duckenfield. One of the men behind the swag empire. As far as house/tech-house goes, Swag and specifically Chris have always been near the top of my list (Dig up old Primitive stuff for a great earful).

Finally, due out September 21st, 2007 is the next album from Cristian Vogel. Entitled 'The Never Engine' it's being released on Tresor and it's another take on the Bleep Techno genre we haven't quite heard yet.

The NeverEngine - a collection of recordings synthesised using bespoke sequencing algorithms designed to interpolate between data-states, and so slide beats into bleeps and tones into drones. The first generation of engine, code-named the Xpute (transpute), began to drive itself on, using interpolation to slow down perceptions of time and linear frequency shifts to optimise its own states, tending towards an orgonic singularity, now known as 'The Whoop' - sonic parallels and external references can legitimately be made with a similar strange attractor that emerged from the electronarcosound output at the turn of the 20th century, an intensive and self-replicating human/audio interaction that took place between the years 1994 and 1998 - these references are sometimes taggable as ChiTown, Jack, Bug or Wonky Worm.
Cristian Vogel has been overseeing the refinement and evolution of these interpolating state engines, and presents here the first chapter documenting the sonic results of this concentrated research and development into what could be one of the more important steps into orgone driven electronic music. He has reported further massive refinements to these so-called 'NeverEngines' which we hope will emerge from Station55 as soon as they are fit for human consumption."

Cristian was kind enough to send me mp3's of the album. I've provided snippets to whet tastebuds...

Update: You can now pre-order this @ deejay

Since posting the info for Cris' newest LP yesterday I did some digging and found another of his sets that I hadn't uploaded yet. It's apparently recorded from a night at the Neue Heimat club. It's not just a great label!

Cristian Vogel @ Neue Heimat 2002

I almost skipped past this one. Fortunately I noticed the NDK & Fin Phranklin tracks before it was too late!

I haven't found a webshop with this pre-orderable yet. So i guess it may be either a while off still, or just about to drop. I'll believe the latter until proven wrong.

Edit: This is out now. I recommend it!

Superstar Dj Loz relies on mainly on the law of averages in assembling his mixes. Put enough together and one is bound to come out ok.

That kinda sounds like how my sense of humour works.

A recent Bleep Radio show [#73] featured TSR from Sweden. It was a live recording that was passed to me by Robi of TSR. Although it may have been Tomi. My memory fails me at this point, other than to be certain it wasn't Fredi.

As I mentioned in the bleep write-up it was recorded at a party called 'Wriggle' at Tradgarden in Stockholm. I also mentioned there were some video clips on Klot.net. What I neglected to tell you or even to allude to was that there was a full-length video that was being edited.

The video was recorded by a friend of the TSR boys (Mr. 'Tunnan' AKA Tommy Hellquist) and I believe it was also edited by him. A little brightening work as well as some 'filler' scenes round out this hour long video into something worth downloading. On that note I offer it as a streaming Flash movie as well as a 700 Meg avi to download.

Don't worry about my bandwidth, it's covered; spread this puppy far and wide.

Valta and Minikin of Kievbass saw fit to ask me to do them a mix for their new Kievbass podcast.

On Saturday night just passed my girlfriend and I had some friends over for a bit of a backyard gathering. It was a motley crew of people, some of whom listen to electronic music and some who don't so when it came time to throw on some records for them all it had to be something friendly or approachable. Here's a snippet...

I missed the Frankie release these guys did until I found the Floppy Funk and then went searching for more. I prefer this EP over their first on Frankie, 3 tracks I like on this one versus only 1 on the Frankie EP. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on these goons in the future.

Donk Boys are two mentally okay guys from Malmö, Sweden, who make mentally sometimes not so okay music. The boys, both with a bunch of solo EPs out on their own (as Bauri/Deltidseskapism and Thomas Jaldemark), joined forces in their shared flat to produce their special donk sound. Bored by (some of) today's generic techno sounds, they try to distinguish themselves by incorporating humour, freaky sounds and twisted arrangements to their tracks.

Hot on the heels of their debut EP for Frankie (Cpstyre), the swedish newcomers Donk Boys aka Thomas Jaldemark and Martin Abrahamsson presents four new hot trax for your favorite label Floppy Funk! ...

I've just now updated Jerome's set-archive with a Pure Filth set. Recorded back in December of 2001 it's getting to be one of the older ones floating around still.
