I took a tour of the world via Google's eyes to try and find some info about this 'Perfierias Festival' that took place in Spain, but had no luck in finding anything out. Apparently in Spain they don't speak English so all my search results looked strangely foreign to me. I know there's a few of you who can most certainly rest easy as you probably know all about this Festival...try to not rub it in with the rest of us dough-heads!

Ok, you all know the score here anyway. Festival specific information is not needed to enjoy and new Neil and Toby live set. And enjoy it I know you all will, it's heavy on the dance floor appeal.

Considering the next few Bleep's just may be located way out the harder end of the spectrum this week's is a relatively slow-mo, old House and new Bleep lick. There are a few of my favorite House tracks tucked into it (Sneak and Fiasco!). Tracks that will never grow old for me or hopefully any of you for that matter.

Ed has put together the third in his hopefully long lasting series. This one is to be the last in the "83 - '92" time span he says. As per the previous two it definitely meets the quality control standards. Another highly recommended listen.

Leave a comment on Ed's blogspot page if you enjoy it. That will allow him to gauge interest and keep him busy!

Dave got in touch with me via Myspace today with a request to listen to these two mixes of his. I get a lot of emails like this and most of them turn out to be stuff I don't normally listen to and see as being mass emailed. This one turned out to be pretty on mark though. Dave has supplied me (and now all of us) with two pretty banging Techno mixes full of all sorts of stuff we know and some pretty excellent stuff I've never heard before as well.

No track-lists yet, but I think they're forthcoming. They'll be added when/if.

When this Ep's track list caught my eye I figured it would be the Mike Dunn whose tracks would be the reason for buying it. This Hardrock Striker guy surprised me though. His remix of 'Pump Up The Acid' is probably the stand out song on this EP. Very reminiscent of older Strictly/Nervous style acid. I dig it!

I discovered this when performing a search for Rotorik the artist. I'd never heard of 'Misc' before (Christopher Bleckmann & Hannes Wenner), but it turns out they're almost up my alley with most of their stuff. On this EP the stand out for me is coincidentally the track 'Rotorik'. It has a certain steady feel to it with some sounds that aren't typical, but still work out well.

I don't normally pay too much attention to Dave's sets for reasons I guess anyone could figure out. Some of his older ones tend to lean more towards stuff I do like though. A good three quarters of this one here is raw old Chi-town stuff with balls. Of course it turns into his usual closer to the end, but I do enjoy the first half enough to make it a keeper.

My man 'Seeker' gets a shout out for hooking this one up!

I don't believe this to be a a release of new tracks. In fact I'm pretty sure I've got at least three (if not all four) of these tracks on other, older, release on labels such as Svek and 430 West. Still, it's a good opportunity for those who don't have much of Cari Lekebusch's alter ego to scoop up some of the ones that are still good years later. Mind you, they aren't the best ones. Perhaps he's saving a re-release of those for another day though.

Drosan got the taste for mixing in the early 90s, when for the first time he entered a night club. First he began as a lightjockey and then worked his way out to djing. It's fair to remember that in those days "techno" music was kicking of in Lisbon. Club "Kremlin" made the difference where To Pereira (a few years later known as dj Vibe) played that rithmatic, body movin music that so much inspired him. Also, he was lucky to have met Paulo "Escobar" one of the most respected djs back then to teach him.

More or less between 1991/94 Drosan played at matines like those classic "Zona+" afternoons, partys, clubs, a bit everywhere... 1995 was a bit underground... in 1996 he received a proposal to be the resident dj at club "Climacz". There he met his big mate dj Ze Mig l, another big influence and motive to evolve... Drosan started producing (1997) and continue djing, once again, underground. In between he likes to remember those freaky outdoor parties, those private friends parties and now and then a few club parties, this last ones were so few due to the bad times "techno" music was going thru. He also worked at dj Ze Mig l shop.
Along the way dj Mem became is big mate to and toghether they dj, produce music and founded in the year 2004 Nasty Colour records.

This set was recorded at what is lovingly referred to as the "Skoolyard Club" in Portugal. When someone works at a School and there is free space not being used, the only thing I can think to do with it is to convert that free space into a dance club at night once per month. It makes perfect sense. This jammin' little set was recorded at one of these nights back in October for Dj Urbe's birthday celebration.

The newest EP on Bonus Round, the label manned by Luke's Anger seems to be a solo from Ben Pest EP with just one non-original track and that's Luke's remix of 'Now Panic' which was on Panic Bridge 01 (Panic Bridge 02 is closer to fruition I'm told). I don't have any idea about a release date, I don't have the artwork yet and I don't know anything else aside from having the clips which are below. That should be enough to work up the salivary glands though. Updates to follow as I get the info of course.

With „Xtc & Worry" Reche & Recall present their new Techno-Breakbeat tunes which rised up
to real classics in their liveact over the past two years. Under the slogan of „Back to the
oldschool" they mashed up typical characteristics from the early eras of Techno and British
Hardcore. The post Nu-Rave Generation will get on its money worth when attitudes of
happyness, melodies and dance meet up.

This past week or so has been almost solely about the acid releases. It's not something I planned in any way, the new releases that caught my ears just happened to line up in that way. This EP here by the DMX Krew is one I found a few weeks back, but held off on posting until I got the samples for it from the man himself. I don't normally wait, but Ed's a good guy and we've also now lucked out with a bit of back story to the tracks...

"I made the last two quite recently but Radio Bliss is a few years old and December Darkness is from 1994 I think! "

I know if I took anything I tried making that from that far back it'd be an awkward a-rhythmical just hitting puberty mess.

known primarily via Richie Hawtin's infamous Mixmag CD 'Altes Testment' is a class track which I'm quite surprised is only getting the re-issue treatment now! While Altes may be the track that is known (Or is it anymore?) I think 'Cairo' is the slow-mo, eerie, broken beat creeper that will end up getting more play this time around on the decks.

Years and years of bust have led to an Acid boom it would seem. This record here is supposed to be something dug out of the vaults somewhere from somewhen. Apparently edited by Ron Hardy, but it's not that important. What is important is it's a pretty good series of warehouse-esque box tracks (what do you know - just what the label suggests!).

There's a lot of 'acid' coming out, but not enough good acid. File this one in the good acid column and ignore the rest.

Coming from Oliver Dodd, a man who has unquestionable taste in Electro and Acid, it's apparently something that was going over well at WMC this year. Normally music that goes over well at the Music Conference isn't something I'd be posting, but it looks like the crowd down there got it right this time.

As opposed to the regular mix format of Bleep Radio, this week is a more standard 'radio' format. It comes to us all courtesy of Ed Upton who you know by some of the following names: edmx, dmx krew and, computor rockers (as a small sampling). I stumbled across Ed's first podcast and was so impressed with it I had to get in touch with him about possibly doing another one for Bleep.

We're all here now so you know what became of that email exchange.

It's informative, insightful and in my opinion it's something that is lacking for this area of music. I firmly believe that more people would be more appreciative and more supportive if there were more shows like this for them to listen to. Dj mixes are fantastic and we all love to download new ones to burn for in car entertainment (or where ever you prefer to listen), but when it comes to luring new blood into the scene it needs to be more accessible and we need to encourage new people to learn as much as they can about it at the same time. This is a great resource for this goal, especially with it's very broad and open minded approach. Of course Ed's great taste in music certainly helps!

Big thanks go to Ed, let him know if you like his podcast so he'll be willing to make more in the future. The music needs it.

Here's another vault haul. At over a decade old and still getting play (from me at least!). Listen to this and compare it to what Sven is doing these days. That is if you even bother listening to what he does these days. I know I lost interest in his stuff years ago.

Scorpio's Movement lured me into it's folds when I heard Robert De La Gauthier play it at the Masonic Temple in Toronto. Of course I had no idea what the hell it was at the time, but it wasn't long before I found it and I'm pretty sure it was 1999 when I finally got my own copy from my local record (In Yer Ear!). It was just sitting there all lonely like in the bins because no one else wanted it. This record doesn't deserve such treatment.

Another good month in the bag here at FitM. Even with me being away for over a week mid way through the numbers still held up which to be honest I was worried about. After 3+ years of not missing any time it was a tough 10 days of non posting activity (It was always in the back of my mind).

Now that I finally got the site updated recently as well, more people are able to use various things like the 'search' for the first time in ages. I don't quite know why it was selective in it's functionality before, but it was. This month my logs logged about 22,774 searches which seems huge to me. I hope it means the years of archives are being put to good use still.

DMX Krew Radio - 1

I discovered a new dmx krew EP that'll be out (and posted) soon and while doing some online digging I found a podcast that Ed had done as a bit of promo for the label the EP is on (Turbo). It's a great listen and I highly recommend that everyone take a peek at it. Ed plays a series of songs that were influential for him and gives a bit of back story. Some of you may remember when I did that with Bleep (although via text) and know that it's very informative and insightful.
