Side A is again by the M_nus artist Hobo, this time a
reinterpretation of 03. It was so hard for him to decide which track he wanted
to remix that he remixed both the originals. That made it hard for us to decide
which one we would like to choose, we loved both of them so we took both
remixes, the 04 remix having been already released on Snork 17. With the remix
of 03, Hobo comes over all Flat Eric with a cracking saw-tooth bass-line laid
over some really tight beats, destined to set fire to dance-floors worldwide in
2009!
Side B kicks
off with a remix of 04 by Spandex. Nottingham based Matt Southall previously
gave the world the wonderful "What's wrong with you" EP on Hand on the Plow and
"Nameless dread" on Cristian Vogel's Sleep Debt label, to much critical
acclaim, and was even once offered a gig at the well known Berghain club in
Berlin, about which he said "Hmm, yeah, I never got round to replying, I had
too much work on at the time!". Oblivious to fashion, trends and popularity
(which is lovable and refreshing in this day and age) his remix has a touch of
UK rave house trash mixed with a lot of funk.
B2 is a bonus track by ### - "06", the sounds of solid
bass-heavy grooves, with a definite dub- techno vibe, perfectly poised for
after hour parties in the summer, even though we still have 5 or so months to
go!
