Aside from the month being mostly devoid of new releases, it still turned out pretty swell.

Murky Stats: August 2010

August was an all around down month. bandwidth used, pages served, visitors by city. The works. I figure it's because of the erratic posting schedule, although only time and regularity would prove that one. I don't foresee either in the very near future. I (we'll...?) just keep plugging away to see what happens!

I added a bit of info to this month's stats post. Not too much, just a bit of month to month change and more search terms with actual counts. If there is anything else you'd like to see/know in future stats posts, let me know. I don't have the time to do continuous trending, but anything in your typical analog stats, google analytics or piwik packages I can and will supply.

And just so you all know...August 2010 is the 5 year anniversary of FitM ;) Any ideas about how to celebrate? Either on the site, on Bleep Radio or other means?

I've got nothing to pass on this month. Things are running smoothly. The numbers are a bit lower than usual, but that's obviously because of the reduced posts. Life and lack of music happen from time to time. I'll see you all on the other end of the dry spell.

I have one thing to say about the month of May. I'm glad it's over. For no particular reason. June is already looking more Techno. Bring on June.

Content wise it was a slow month. I'm really feeling two things lately

  1. The lack of an abundance of new music coming out

  2. ...and a lack of free time on a daily basis to post/record Bleeps

As I'm sure has been noticed, since I'm not able to do daily posts right now (due to both of the above reasons) I am trying to make up for it. I seem to be able to do a bit more on the weekends than I was able to before, but the Monday to Friday period is definitely painful to maintain right now. Bare with me, things will normalize. And soon I hope as this is my last week on Night Shift which I think is a huge part of the time thing.

Another March. No highlights this month. Another tough month in terms of finding good stuff to pass on to you all. It seems like it may be picking up a little bit though. Which is good.I yearn for new vinyl.

In one respect the site took a bit of a hit this month. It had much less visitors than last month. If I were an attributing man I'd say it was because of the lower number of posts. There just wasn't much going on this month. However, there was an Adsense record set this month of over $15. Clearly quantity is not needed. I'm glad the GB per month number is lower. Despite having "unlimited" from my host I am also aware that as the resident of a virtual server I can affect the other sites on the same machine as me. Too much bullying can get you in trouble.

Yesterday I began something 'new' that I will likely continue. Tossing up a post whenever a record order is made, or in the case of a Deejay.de order, when it is sent out (Deejay allows me to slowly build an order up over the course of a month). This will allow you all to see what records I'm picking up, whether they're new, old, re-released or what have you. I urge you to comment on those posts with what you've picked up as well. We're all bound to stumble across some stuff we wouldn't have discovered!

To tell the truth, these monthly statistic posts I do are all starting to blur together. I do keep track of it all in a spreadsheet, but I rarely actually look back at the data. I worry about trending at work, I don't need to bother myself with it at home. I'm going to base today's little spiel on the previous month's data only.

This month was better.

That's much easier. I think I may keep this method up. I do want to say thank you to anyone who has clicked on a banner though. I paid for a year of hosting with a cheque I just got from Google. The rate you guys have been clicking it looks like the site may be officially paying for itself as of now basically) That's as much as I ever wanted. If the ad revenue ever amounts to more than what the hosting costs I'll look into giving us some sort of add-on to make life cooler (if not better).

Cheers folks!

Another year done, this was Fun in the Murky's fourth December. I've got the site where I want it with a solid group of people visiting, listening and talking. I guess the only direction to head in now is to release some music. The process has been started and as soon as I have some confirmation on the net step I'll share it with you all. 2010 should be interesting!
